Music Minor

PLEASE NOTE: This Goucher catalogue is specific to the 2018-2019 school year, and this program will no longer be accepting new students as of Fall 2019.

The music minor is divided into a core curriculum and several tracks. Music minors may not audit courses in private instruction. Total credits required: 24-28 (28-32 if MUS 101 and 131 are required)

Courses students may test out of:

MUS 101 - Fundamentals of Music Theory (4 Cr.) - students may test out of MUS 101 by taking the Theory Placement Test (see Professor Kennison)
MUS 131 - Basic Piano (2 Cr.) - students may test out of MUS 131 with permission from Professors Weiss or Lane.

MUS 107 - Music Salon (1 Cr.) - 2 credits (semesters) required
MUS 121 - Sight Singing (4 Cr.)
MUS 248 - Music History I (4 Cr.)
