ANT 310 - Seminar: Imagined Communities: The Anthropology of Ethnicity and Nationalism (4 Cr.) This course introduces students to anthropological approaches to the study of ethnicity and nationalism, two of the most crucial markers of identity. It explores the development and variation in ethnic identity and nationalism, tracing how nationalism connects to, and interfaces with, class, gender, sexuality, and other components of personhood. Prerequisites: ANT 243 and junior standing. Spring semester. Offered 2013-2014 and alternate years. Frekko.
