Dance Minor

All dance minors must complete 24 credits of dance coursework (including studio practice) that includes 10 core credits, 8 technique credits, 4 theoretical elective credits, and 2 technical elective credits. All students are encouraged to take technique classes each semester.
Technical Proficiency - All dance minors are required to achieve the following technical competency for graduation:
- Level 3 in at least one genre
- Level 2 or higher in a second genre
- Level 2 or higher in a third genre

CORE REQUIREMENTS (10 Credits)
THEORY ELECTIVES (choose 4 Credits)
TECHNIQUE (choose 8 credits)
At least one course in each genre: Ballet, Modern, and Africanist. 8 credits.
TECHNIQUE ELECTIVE (choose 2 credits)
STUDENT PRODUCTION REQUIREMENT
All minors are required to complete stage crew and front of house activities for one or more Dance Program performances. This practical crew requirement is a hands-on, real-world production experience requiring students to fill one or more crew positions for main stage and studio concerts. Students earn points for the satisfactory completion of their duties. Ten points are required for the completion of this component.
