Return to: Majors, Minors, Concentrations, and Certifications
In the fall of 2016, the History and Historic Preservation program will be introducing new requirements for its minor, and a range of new courses to support those requirements. (See below for the old requirements, which will still apply to some students.) The minor will consist of five courses plus a capstone course, for a total of 22 credits. Students will have to take one 100-level course, two 200-level courses, one 300-level course, and the HIS 415 /HIS 480 Tutorial/Capstone sequence, described above under the Major. Minors will also be expected to complete courses in each of three major geographic areas, the United States, Europe, and the non-European and non-American world (Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East). Students who declare a history minor before the fall of 2016 can decide if they will follow the current requirements above, or these new ones that will come into effect in that semester.
