Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Major

Total credits required: 32.

200 or 300 Level in WGS (8 Credits)


Two 200- or 300-level Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies courses are required. (Students who elect to take both WGS 100  and WGS 150 , may take one course at the 200- or 300-level in WGS, with departmental approval and in consultation with your advisor)

Upper Level Electives (8 Credits)


Two 300- or 400-level elective courses in WGS or a related discipline are required.

Internship (2 or 4 Credits, 180 hours)


One 400-level internship, in consultation with the department. WGS 490 (4 Cr.)

Note:


Students may demonstrate writing proficiency in the major by taking WGS 205 /PCE 205  (course becomes WGS 306 /PCE 306  beginning spring 2020). A variety of opportunities for internships specifically related to women’s studies are available for students.

Students may substitute the PCE 497  capstone experience for a 400-level course in WGS with an approved topic or project.
