The minor consists of five courses, for a total of 20 credits. Students will have to take one 100-level course, two 200-level courses, one 300-level course, and the HIS 415  Tutorial. The differences and connections between these different courses are described above under the major requirements. History minors are not required to take the HIS 497  capstone course, but any who wish to do so may take it for 2 credits and make a presentation along with the majors at the end of the academic year. Minors will also be expected to complete courses in each of three major geographic areas, the United States, Europe, and the non-European and non-American world (Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East).
