DAN 433 - West African Diaspora Dance IV: Hip Hop/Jazz/Tap (2 Cr.)(formerly Africanist Dance Technique IV) An advanced level, intensive instruction in West African Diaspora dance technique. Students will continue to develop technical and performance skills while deepening their understanding of the aesthetic principles of Hip Hop/Jazz/Tap. An important component of the course is the examination of how West African diaspora dance forms influence, and have been appropriated by, the creative work of choreographers in other movement genres. Repeatable up to three times for credit. Prerequisite: placement in DAN 433. Fall semester, repeated Spring semester. Program faculty.
