DAN 100 - Pilates Method of Body Conditioning Mat (1 Cr.)(Formerly PE 445) This course is an introduction to Pilates mat work developed by Joseph Pilates, providing on going practice to both the beginner and intermediate student. Coursework will introduce Pilates core principles and proper technique in fundamental exercises in order to align, lengthen, and strengthen the body while improving posture, coordination, balance, core strength and flexibility. Special attention will be given to the low-impact mat, magic circle, and free weight series. Repeatable up to three times for credit. Variable semesters. Program faculty.
