WRT 181H - Writing Studies - Honors (4 Cr.) This course welcomes you into the Goucher Community of Writers and to the creative processes of inquiry, composition, collaboration, revision, and editing. You will develop strategies to read perceptively, think deeply, and write with clarity about complex issues. This course emphasizes research - the thoughtful, responsible use of sources that is part of joining ongoing academic conversations. In this intensive workshop, you will develop the habits of mind and practice of craft that characterize academic writing in all its complicated and graceful forms. In addition, students will hone their skills in extended writing projects and/or community-based learning opportunities. Placement by program. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor or director of the writing program. Fall semester only. Sterling, Welch, Poliakoff-Chen.
Please note: WRT 181H is offered in combination with FYS 100W , a First Year Seminar (FYS) with Writing. Students must apply for this Honors level combination of Writing and First Year Seminar. Please see further course descriptions under the FYS 100W courses.
