RUS 260 - The Russian Press (4 Cr.) (cross-listed as RUS 360)
In Russian and/or English. Primarily a reading course for mid-intermediate students comprised of annotated texts supplemented by short written assignments. English/other foreign language speakers read authentic texts in language in which they are proficient. This non-specialized translation course is grounded in advanced grammar and syntactical analysis. Discussions and assignments are designed to help students acquire knowledge and vocabulary in the areas of history, political science, economics, and culture. Major and minor credit is given for either 260 or 360, not both. Prerequisite: RUS 260E- none; RUS 260 - RUS 248 ; RUS 360 -permission of instructor. Alternating years 2018. Spring semester.
