DAN 296 - Introducation to Dance Therapy (3 Cr.)*title change from Dance Therapy I to Introduction to Dance Therapy
This course offers an introductory review of the founding members and the development of the theoretical concepts in dance therapy through reading materials, discussion and experiential interaction. The course will review the field of dance therapy, exploring the use of movement as a treatment and its clinical application with a variety of populations. Prerequisites: modern 1 (DAN 115 ) or ballet 1 (DAN 121 ) and dance improvisation (DAN 104 ); in addition, PSY 111 and PSY 112 are strongly encouraged by the completion of this course. Fall semester. Offered 2015-2016 and alternate years. Workeneh.
