DAN 221 - Ballet Technique II (1.5 - 2.0 Cr.) (GEN. ED. #9 with any other Modern Technique course) An intermediate course in classical ballet technique that further emphasizes the development of technical skills, vocabulary, flexibility, stamina, and strength. Students will focus on the application of the qualitative aspects of movement and develop speed in analysis and synthesis. The theoretical and analytical aspects of technique and knowledge of dance as an expressive art form will also be examined. Repeatable up to three times for credit. Prerequisite: department placement in DAN 221 or above. Fall semester, repeated spring semester. Department.
