BIO 109 - Nutrition (lecture Only) (4 Cr.)

Students will explore the chemical, biological, & social aspects of nutrition as an interdisciplinary science. Through an introduction to basic nutrients and physiology, the effects of food on health and wellness will be examined. Topics such as energy requirements throughout life, healthy weight maintenance, supplements/herbs, food safety, and local/global food issues will be discussed. Four hours classroom.
