DMC 314 - Operations Research (4 Cr.)


Operations Research is the application of mathematical methods to decision-making, using modeling and optimization to solve problems with applications ranging from airport scheduling to identifying social networking communities. This course will cover modeling and solving linear programming problems (optimization problems with linear constraints), sensitivity analysis, network flow problems, and, time permitting, an introduction to integer programming. This course will be project-driven with applications drawn from the transportation, manufacturing, medicine, and online communities, to name a few. Prerequisite: C- or above in MA 172 .
