RUS 267 - The Golden Age of Russian Literature (4 Cr.) (cross-listed as RUS 367)
In Russian and/or English. For mid-intermediate students. Course revolves around the poetry of Lermontov and Pushkin, and the prose of Gogol. Part of a four-year cycle of rotating pre-revolutionary topics in fiction, poetry, or drama involving close textual analysis of select works of one author, in-depth analysis of a single literary masterpiece, or examination of a particular theme or genre. Special emphasis is placed on the writing of critical essays. Prerequisite: RUS 231 , or instructor’s permission. As needed. Czeczulin.
