The Beatrice Aitchison ‘28 Non-Tenured Faculty Professional Advancement Fund
Income from the fund, created by Dr. Aitchison in 1981, is used for professional development activities of non-tenured faculty members.

 

The Alumnae & Alumni Junior Faculty Fund
Income from the fund, created by leaders of The Alumnae & Alumni of Goucher College in 1995, is used to support professional development for non-tenured (junior) faculty.

The Beekhuis Fund for Faculty Development in International Studies

Income from the fund may be awarded to one or more full or part-time Goucher faculty members who have proposed a project that will advance the college’s international goals and support the priorities of the International and Intercultural Studies Program.

This fund was established to expand, enrich, and provide financial support to Goucher students, faculty, programs and visiting scholars engaged in the peace studies program.  The Blum Fund will be available to support a wide variety of student and faculty initiatives which may include but not be limited to: awards, research, internships, study abroad programs, scholarship, undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as public lecture, symposiums, visiting scholars and conferences.

The Lauren Bogue Summer Science Research Fund

This fund was established to support a financial stipend for summer research for the college’s science faculty.

The Caroline Doebler Bruckerl ‘25 Award
This award was established in 1989 to recognize annually the outstanding achievement of a faculty member during the previous year

The Helen M. Campbell Fund for Theatre

This fund was established to further the academic goals of the theatre department by providing for enhanced experiential learning. The chair of the department has the discretion to use funds for such experiential enhancements as: fees for workshop leaders, workshop participation, consultants or creative partners for the senior project, or theatre viewing, or to provide travel funds for students participating in conferences.

The Nancy Larrick Crosby ‘30 Fund for Excellence in Teaching
Income from the fund provides awards to individual faculty or to groups of faculty members to develop innovative teaching methods that will encourage interdisciplinary study and enable students to become more active, engaged, and involved learners.

 

The Jane B. Evensen ‘44 Fund for Faculty Development in International Studies
Income from this fund is intended to encourage and support curriculum development and professional growth in the area of international and intercultural studies.

The Harry L. Gladding Foundation Faculty Research Fund for International Studies

This fund was given by the Harry L. Gladding Foundation to provide a financial stipend to one or more Goucher faculty involved in development of new curriculum and academic opportunities is support of the college’s mandatory international study requirement.

 

The Martha Robinson Hawkins Faculty Fund
Income from this fund is used to support research and other creative work in the humanities and social sciences.

 

The Dr. Ralph and Mildred Fried Hollander ‘39 Fund
This fund provides the chief academic officer with funds to expand, enrich, and support the college’s programs in the natural science and mathematics.

The Lahey Faculty Development Fund

This fund was given by Carlotta Gonzales Lahey to support summer stipends.

The Judy Lewent ‘70 Fund for Summer Research in the Sciences

This fund provides financial support to the summer research program in the sciences at Goucher College, a program through which students benefit from the opportunity to conduct summer research in close collaboration with faculty members.  Income is to be used to fund student stipends, faculty stipends, purchase supplies or satisfy other needs of the program in order to guarantee and enhance the educational experience of science students working on summer research projects.

The Elizabeth Nitchie Fellowships
Income from this fund is used to support faculty members in the humanities.

 

The Jane Welsh Russell ‘42 Endowment Fund
This fund provides the chief academic officer with discretionary funds to expand, enrich, and support the work of the college’s faculty.

 

The Barbara H. Weinbaum ‘46 and Batya Weinbaum Fund for Faculty Development in Women’s Studies
This fund provides annual income to encourage and support curriculum development and professional growth activities to faculty affiliated with the women’s studies program.

The Margaret Messler Winslow ‘69 Fund for Environmental Studies

The fund provides financial support for environmental studies through grants for the Summer Sustainability Institute, faculty-student research, and visiting faculty members in environmental studies.

The Margaret Messler Winslow ‘69 Fund for International Education

Along with scholarship aid to student studying abroad, the fund may provide grants to be awarded to Goucher College faculty and staff members who create accepted proposals to develop and lead Goucher study abroad programs, including both short-term intensive courses abroad (ICAs) and semester-long programs. Faculty recipients will be selected by the associate dean for international studies, in consultation with the college provost.

The Zimmerman Endowed Fund

This fund provides funds for full-time faculty members who teach mathematics or computer science Goucher College.  The income will be split equally among all qualifying faculty members to be used for professional development and research including, but not limited to, professional memberships, travel stipends to attend conferences, research and equipment.
