French Transnational Studies Minor

All courses must be passed with a minimum grade of C to count toward the minor.

The French Transnational Studies minor consists of 20 credits taken at the 200, 300, and 400 level and must include FR 250 , two 300-level courses, and one 4-credit 400-level seminar at Goucher.

Foundation Course (1 required)

FR 250 - Introduction to French Transnational Studies (4 Cr.)

Elective Courses (3 required; 4 credits each)

All 300- level courses require FR 250 or Instructor Permission.

FR 233 - Writing and Speaking for Fluency (4 Cr.) or a 300 or 400 level class (4 credits) or a Study Abroad experience approved by the French program.
FR 353 - Introduction to Transnational French/Francophone Cinema (4 Cr.)
FR 357 - Special Topics in French & Francophone Narratives (4 Cr.)
FR 358 - French Cultures. Interpreting Social Change in Transnational France. (4 Cr.)

Seminar Course (1 required)

All seminars have a pre-requisite of FR 250 or Instructor Permission.

Study Abroad

Although study abroad is not required, students are encouraged to complete the French International Course Abroad (6-8 Cr.) OR to participate in the IFE program.
