DAN 283 - Dance Pedagogy (4 Cr.)
This course investigates how to construct and sequence beginning through advanced ballet and modern dance classes that are anatomically, developmentally, and age appropriate. Attention will be given to effective demonstration, pacing, feedback and corrections, purpose of exercises, mastering musical accompaniment, and the development of progressive goals and objectives supported by a syllabus and lesson plan. Observation and in-class peer teaching will support student development. Variable semesters.
