RLG 355 - Black Religious Thought II (3 Cr.) This course focuses on the development of the black faith tradition from the Great Migrations to the present. The social/historical/political context that shaped black religious thought during this period will be explored. Particular attention will be paid to the development of a systematic black theology with a close examination of thinkers such as Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and James Cone. Prerequisite: sophomore standing or one course in religion. Offered Spring 2017 and alternate semesters thereafter. Douglas.
