COM 333 - Media Ethics (3 Cr.) Examination of the key ethical concepts and theories for the purpose of considering the moral implications of contemporary media practice. Strategies of ethical analysis applied to specific communication problems within international and global contexts. Using the case-study approach, this course explores a variety of issues, including image ethics and war, terrorism and the media, and First World representations of the Third World. Prerequisites: at least two 200-level required theory/criticism and history courses, departmental and college writing proficiency, and junior or senior status; or permission of the instructor.
