WS 386 - Women, Art, and Society (3 Cr.) (ART 386 ) An examination of the role women have played as producers and consumers and as the subject matter of the visual arts in the Western tradition. Emphasis on the treatment of women’s contributions to the visual arts and on issues of gender and ideology within the discipline of art history. Prerequisite: one 200-level art history course or junior standing or permission of the instructor. Spring semester. Offered 2011-12 and alternate years. Husch.
