SOC 221 - Courtship, Marriage, and Family (3 Cr.)
The family as a social institution. Internal dynamics of family and relations of family to society. Examination of family cycle, structure, sex roles, conflict, divorce functions, change, and alternate family forms. The American family in historical and comparative contexts. Prerequisite: SOC 106 or ANT 107 or one 200-level social science course. Spring semester. Offered 2012-13 and alternate years. Mullaney.
