PHL 260 - Ancient Philosophy (3 Cr.) (GEN. ED. #4) The birth of Western thinking about existence, knowledge, and values in Greek and Roman philosophy. Consideration of the theories of the pre-Socratics, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, the Stoics, and Plotinus. Prerequisite: either sophomore standing, a 100-level philosophy course, or permission of the instructor. Fall semester. Offered 2009-10 and alternate years. Rose.
