HIS 305 - The Personal Narrative in American History and Culture (4 Cr.) (GEN. ED. #7)
Personal narratives, which include autobiographies, diaries, letters and recollections, offer vivid insights into American life and culture. This course explores a variety of personal narratives, from captivity tales of the 17th century and slave narratives of the 19th century to The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Prerequisites: two 200-level courses in American or European history or American studies or permission of the instructor. Fall semester. Offered 2011-12. Jeffrey.
