SOA 492 - Seminar: Domestic Violence (4 Cr.)(formerly SOC 392)
This course systematically examines the social character and causes of domestic violence, with special attention given to intimate partner violence, child abuse, and courtship violence. Students explore the social, historical, and political processes that influence domestic violence. Includes a required service-learning component. Prerequisites: Junior standing and one of the following courses: SOA 200 , SOA 201 , or SOA 217 . Spring semester. Offered 2020-2021 and alternate years. Shope.
