PSY 275 - Research Practicum in Psychology (4 Cr.)


This course provides the opportunity for students to develop research skills in psychology, working closely with a faculty member and with peers. Focus will be on exposing students to various aspects of the research process, including research design, ethical and regulatory concerns and process, interacting with human research participants, managing and analyzing data, applying research findings to real-world problems (designing programs/interventions), and oral and written communication. Communication of research findings may be of particular focus and may include writing abstracts for submission to conferences, preparing and giving presentations on campus and at professional conferences, writing and revising manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals, and providing feedback on others’ work. This course may serve as preparation for more advanced collaborative research in  .
