Sociology/Anthropology Minor

All minors must complete a minimum of 19 credits within the program. Required courses include:

• ONE of the following courses:

• SOA 200 - Development of Social Thought (4 Cr.)
• SOA 201 - Writing and Interpreting Social Life (4 Cr.)
• SOA 217 - Methods of Social Research (4 Cr.)

  • Four additional courses, either four SOA courses or three SOA courses plus one approved CPEB course (see the list of approved CPEB courses in DegreeWorks); one of the SOA courses must be at the 300- or 400-level. (15-16 Cr.)

Study Abroad Policy:

For a one semester study abroad program or an intensive winter or summer course abroad, one 200-level elective can be counted toward the minor. For a one-year study abroad program, two 200-level electives can be counted toward the minor. All students need to meet with the department chair to have their study abroad courses approved for the minor requirements. For all minors, these are the courses that cannot be substituted or taken elsewhere: SOA 200 , SOA 201 , and SOA 217 .
