Dance Minor

All dance minors must complete 24 credits of dance coursework (including studio practice) that includes 10 core credits, 8 technique credits, 4 theoretical elective credits, and 2 technical elective credits. All students are encouraged to take technique classes each semester.
Technical Proficiency - All dance minors are required to achieve the following technical competency for graduation:
- Level 3 in at least one genre
- Level 2 or higher in a second genre
- Level 2 or higher in a third genre

CORE REQUIREMENTS (10 Credits)
THEORY ELECTIVES (choose 4 Credits)
TECHNIQUE (choose 8 credits)
At least one course in each genre: Ballet, Modern, and Africanist. 8 credits.
TECHNIQUE ELECTIVE (choose 2 credits)
STUDENT PRODUCTION REQUIREMENT
All majors and minors are required to complete a backstage or crew service production activity for a Dance or Theatre Program sponsored performance. This practical requirement is a hands-on, real-world production experience requiring students to fill crew positions and provide production support for main stage and studio concerts. Approved production experience, assigned by the Production Manager, is required for completion.
