BIO 272Y - Intensive Course Abroad Costa Rica: From Science to Policy (1-3 Cr.)

This ICA pre-course and associated international travel component will provide students with an introduction to governmental policy and its impacts on the natural environment and associated scientific discoveries. As a student enrolled in this course, you will leverage in class discussions, writing assignments, journaling, and interactions with guest speakers to achieve an understanding of topics including US and Costa Rican environmental politics and the impact of these phenomena on scientific discovery and scientific research. The success of this course requires active participation. If you are fully engaged in our pre-course activities you will be better prepared for our in-country experience, helping us to build community and form a cohesive group both prior to and during our travels together.
