ART 205 - Digital Fabrication I (4 Cr.) This foundational studio course introduces students to the collaborative and creative environment of a Makerspace. Through hands-on experience with software and hardware, students gain an understanding of digital fabrication processes and the applications of emerging technologies. Working with materials such as plastic, metal, wood, and electronics, students create both artistic and technological projects while also researching innovative digital and physical products. The course emphasizes the development process from ideation to design, alongside instruction in essential safety protocols, regulations, and procedures. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with operation of 3D printers, laser cutters, and other makerspace equipment, and will be prepared to confidently apply these tools to future create projects.
