ES 316 - U.S. Environmental Laws and Agencies (4)
This course examines the most prominent US environmental laws (e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, NEPA, EndangeredSpecies Act) and the prominent federal environmental-related agencies responsible for administering them (e.g., EPA,National Parks, Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service). A special focus is on how agencies’ policy approaches changeover time due to shifts in Congressional and Presidential agendas, often along partisan lines. This course also examines the basics of major US Supreme Court case law that shapes environmental policy.

Prerequisite: ES 232 , Junior standing, or permission of instructor. Every other fall semester.
