LIT 392 - Critical Race Theory (4 Cr.) Race, Power, and Perspective Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies This course deals with the power differences between the western world and its former colonies. We study works by Said, Fanon, Khanna, Bhabha and Spivak. The course focuses on “postcolonial,” “anticolonial,” and “decolonial” as concepts, using fiction texts as case studies. The theoretical texts we read are challenging and provocative. This course will expand your ideas about race, gender, nationalism, and the effects of political and cultural influence. At least junior status required. Fall semester.
