LIT 325 - Overseas: Writing About Travel (4 Cr.)

Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies

This course examines different kinds of writing about being “overseas,” and gives you the opportunity to write about your own experiences of travel. You do not need to have gone abroad to take this course: even something as mundane as walking the Van Meter highway can be construed as ‘travel.’ We read non-fiction travel narratives, essays on wilding and getting lost, and theoretical writings about travel. We conclude with a variety of fictionalized travel writings.

Prerequisite: Pre- or corequisite: : LIT 200 .
