EC 224 - Economics of Crime (2) This course examines various aspects of crime through the lens of economics. The course will introduce the economic theory of crime and explore the question of why do people commit crime. After discussing the motivations for criminal behavior, the course will also examine how criminal activity is measured, empirical analysis of crime data, the cost and societal impact of crime, crime deterrence and punishment, and crime-related public policy. Prerequisite: EC 111 Fall and Spring semesters. Shepard
