FYB 101 - Math for the Real World (1 Cr.)
This course is designed to help entering science and engineering students get up to speed quickly as they begin their college studies, while also orienting them toward the kind of real-world problem-solving that will be at the heart of their education. Students will refresh their knowledge of and familiarity with math topics at the pre-calculus level by working on their applications to some typical engineering-style problems. We will learn from each other through some hands-on experimentation, and brush up on computing skills by working with Microsoft Excel as a science tool. The course will help you fell more prepared, confident, and ready for the fall semester. Graded pass/no-pass. Offered summer 2020.
