COM 142 - News Reporting (4 Cr.)(formerly COM 231)
This course trains students in the basics of gathering information and presenting it as journalism. The course will offer students the chance to learn and execute basic news gathering for print, video, audio, and photographic reporting. Students will have the option of posting their work on a new digital portal: The Goucher Eye. While this is primarily a skills course, the class also introduces students to a culture of journalism that stresses accuracy and ethics, emphasizing journalism as a discipline of verification.
