ART 386 - Women, Art, and Society (3 Cr.)

An examination of the role women have played as producers and consumers and as the subject matter of the visual arts in the Western tradition. Emphasis on the treatment of women’s contributions to the visual arts and on issues of gender and ideology within the discipline of art history. Prerequisite: one 200-level art history course, junior standing, or permission of the instructor. Spring semester. Offered 2012-13 and alternate years. Husch.
