BIO 107 - Nutrition (4 Cr.)

(GCR Biological and Physical Science area)

Students will explore the chemical, biological, & social aspects of nutrition as an interdisciplinary science. Through an introduction to basic nutrients and physiology, the effects of food on health and wellness will be examined. Topics such as energy requirements throughout life, healthy weight maintenance, supplements/herbs, food safety, and local/global food issues will be discussed with understanding enhanced through laboratory experiments. Three hours classroom and three hours laboratory.  Fall 2022 and alternate years. van Breukelen
